8(a) ACQUISITION PROCESS
A Clear Path from Requirement to Award
The contracting agency leads the acquisition and works with SBA to determine whether a requirement can enter the 8(a) program. Redd Solutions can discuss its capabilities as the agency evaluates a potential fit.
01 Define the requirement
The agency identifies the work, period of performance, estimated value, and acquisition approach.
02 Offer the requirement to SBA
The contracting office submits an offering letter to SBA and may identify Redd Solutions for consideration.
03 Receive SBA acceptance
SBA reviews the offering and notifies the contracting office whether it accepts the requirement into the 8(a) program.
04 Evaluate, negotiate, and award
The agency evaluates the proposal and fair market price, completes applicable negotiations, and proceeds to award with SBA’s required approval.
